We get this question frequently, how many tables and chairs do we need? It seems like a pretty easy question and for the most part the answer is simple (for the chairs that is)! If you have fifty guests attending your event, then fifty chairs is what you need. However, like anything, its good to err on the conservative side and add a few in just in case (unexpected guests, maybe you find the DJ or caterer needs a seat to take a load off for a minute or two!).
Now, tables is a bit different. This part can depend on what size and shape of tables you intend to use. For example, if you are going with banquet tables, you will have a different seating configuration that round tables. A six foot(72″) banquet table will seat about 6-8 people comfortably, but an eight foot(96″) table bumps it up to 8-10.
If your event is using round tables then the size is slightly different. A five foot(60″) can seat 6-8 people where as a four foot (48″) table will seat 5-6 people.
Fortunately we have a handy seating capacity guide to help you in determining your needs for your event. Seating Capacity Guide.
